PKUAANC Career Development Forum Series: “My Journey” by Dr. Albert Y. C. Yu



The PKUAANC Career Development Team and NTUAANC are very proud to present our distinguished speaker, Dr. Albert Y. C. Yu, former Senior Vice President of Intel Corporation.

Dr. Yu will describe 3 phases of his journey: learn how to learn; lead Intel's growth to be the largest semiconductor company in the world and expand his role as corporate director, investor, mentor and sponsor of leading edge research. There will be an interactive session after the talk for Dr. Yu to address questions from the audience. So come with your inquisitive mind to learn from a leader and to network with other like-minded professionals!

Speaker’s Biography:


Dr. Albert Y. C. Yu

Former Senior Vice President, Intel Corporation

 Dr. Yu has been active in investing and guiding high technology companies as member of the boards and advisory councils. Albert is Chairman of the Kelvin Foundation and has been supporting leading edge research in bioengineering, medical, software and musical fields. Albert has also been active in coaching aspiring young executives with many non-profit organizations.


Dr. Yu retired from Intel Corporation in late ’02, after almost thirty years with the company.  He had been Senior Vice President, member of the Corporate Management Committee and General Manager of the heart of Intel’s business: microprocessors, chipsets and software for over sixteen years. Under his leadership, Intel’s microprocessors have become the brains for almost all the computing and internet devices which propelled Intel to be the largest semiconductor company in the world.  He also started Intel’s research laboratories around the world.


Prior to Intel, he was with Fairchild R &D Lab, where he conducted research and development of solid-state devices and circuits.  Albert received his bachelor’s degree from California Institute of Technology and his master’s and doctorate degrees from Stanford University, all in electrical engineering.


He received the “Distinguished Alumni Award” from California Institute of Technology in May ’11, and the “Distinguished Life Time Achievement Award” from CIE-USA in Feb ’06, among many other awards. Yu has published over 30 technical papers and two books: "Insider's View of Intel" (1995) and "Creating the Digital Future" (1998).
