2009 is coming to an end and the new year is around the corner.  On behalf of the PKUAANC team, we wish you and your family a prosperous and happy new year!

It has been a great fun journey in the past half+ year, for our 2009-2010 executive committee (EC) team to serve all of you.  I'd like to take this opportunity also to thank all the 50+ EC team members and numerous volunteers in our past events, it was due to the great team work and individual contributions and devotions from them, that together, we've been able to achieved a lot.  You can see at the end of the e-mail a list of things we've done in the past few months.

The existence of our alumni association is meant to serve our alumni, the community, as well as our beloved alma mater.  With that in mind, in the past 7 months, we've established a comprehensive EC team structure, and successfully recruited many warm-hearted and capable alumni, and organized many activities.  Heading into 2010, we will continue to do our best to serve, and we also welcome new team members to join us, simply e-mail pku09ecteam@gmail.com.

Besides planning of activities/services from the current EC team members, to better serve our alumni, we also welcome your inputs and suggestions on what we can do.  Please feel free to put your thoughts/suggestions here in the online form, and we really appreciate your help and support:

As a heads-up, here are some of the things we've planned, and will plan for:

• On Jan 9th, 2010, we will kick-off the new year by a new year reception open to our alumni and family, with free dinner (Thanks for Jennifer Feng's sponsorship!), in the same event, we will also welcome Prof. Weifang Min (闵维方，北大党委书记) and other PKU delegation group members who will visit bay area.  The event notice/registration form will be sent out soon;
  

• In late Jan., our SOFT (Sports and Outdoor Fun Team) team is planning for a ski trip for our alumni, lead by the team director Xinjian Zhou, we wish you could join us and have some fun!
  

• Jan. and beyond, our Career Development Team directors Yan Yang and Elizabeth Chien have planned a couple of more career development forum series with distinguished speakers, stay tuned for the event announcements!

• In mid Feb. 2010, very likely, Prof. Shiyi Chen (陈十一，北大工学院院长) will visit bay area to look for potential talents/projects to go back to PKU College of Engineering (COE) for collaborations in 产学研, or pure start-up looking for government support through PKU COE, we will organize/coordinate the candidates and their meetings here with interested alumni/friends, our Entrepreneur and Executive Team co-director Kelvin Long will lead this effort;
  

• More ... (our teams will come up with more work plans soon and along the way, and we also will incorporate your inputs!)
