Team Objectives

·         Promote professional networking and mentoring opportunities among alumni

·         Bring opportunities to alumni members to learn from and meet with other successful leaders and professionals resident or visiting the Bay Area

·         Provide training and workshops on career enhancement and leadership skills to alumni

·         Facilitate knowledge sharing of job leads

 

Initiatives

Career Development Forum Series: Whether you are just starting out in your career, or in the middle of the long road, you will often find yourself faced with difficult career decisions and tricky situations. You take training. You read books. But still… it is not enough. Sometimes you wish you could learn from other experienced, successful people; you wonder how others have dealt with the same issues.

 

The Forum Series aims to bring such opportunities to you to hear insights, experiences, stories from other experienced, successful professionals and leaders; as well as helping each other by exchanging ideas in an open forum.

 

Workshop Series: We are in the process of identifying valuable and affordable training opportunities in various areas of career or leadership development.

Introduction to Beijing Medical University/Medical Alumni Connections

 

BMU connection team of Northern California is founded in June 2009. It is subsidiary of Peking University Alumni Association (PKUAA). The goal is to unite and service BMU(PKU-HSC) alumni in Northern California.

北加州北大校友会-北医校友分会成立于2009年6月，目的为了更好的服务于北加州、湾区的北医校友

2009年8月16日，由北京大学北加州校友会，北医校友分会主办的北医校友聚会首次在红木城举行。本次活动是自北医合并北大以来第一次校友会聚会，意义重大。此次活动共有70多名校友及家属参加，校友跨度30年。本次活动等到了广大北医校友的支持，其间校友交流了北医分会今后的活动和发展。







Introduction to Finance Team

The finance team is an extremely crucial part of PKUAANC. The main tasks of this team are :

·        Keeping our accounting records straight

-        Dealing with the government compliance issues including filing the annual complex  Sec. 501 ( c)(3) organizaton' s tax return

·        Leading fund-raising activities

 




Introduction to Communication Team




Communications team's goal is simple: to keep our alumnus connected to PKUAANC and vice versa. We publish events and information through our website, Yahoo mailing list, facebook, and linkedin. Where-ever you are (online), we try to keep you updated!

While we work very hard to "leave no alumni behind", you could be tremendously helpful -- simply forward this website to alumnus you know "are left behind" and encourage them to pay a visit & sign up for the mailing list. Refer 5 new alumnus to the list and your entrance to the next annual PKUAANC BBQ is on us (usually mid-May, featuring gourmet 羊肉串 and much more).

Introduction to Entrepreneurship Team

The PKUAANC Entrepreneur and Executive (EnE) Club is one of the 9 PKUAANC Teams, led by Ray Su, Kelvin Long and Meng Yang. It evolved from Peking University Alumni Venture Club ("PKUAVC") of 2008. The EnE club is intended to be a close group of PKU alumnus (or close friends) who are entrepreneurs/intrapreneurs or corporate executives. We get together, exchange ideas, share experiences and help each other.

 

Our flag-ship event is the monthly EnE mixer, held on the third Saturday afternoon of each month. With gourmet food & wine at a scenic location, we want to put you at complete ease, then meet some interesting people and have several deep conversations. Our goal is to build a small yet powerful community overtime that could be beneficial for every member.

Introduction to Sports and Outdoor Fun Team (SOFT)

SOFT, Sports & Outdoor Fun Team, aims to provide ways to enjoy the fun of sports events and outdoor activities and make new friends for our Peking University alumni. The mission of SOFT has two areas. Sports: form teams to participate in local sport competitions and arrange regular soccer/basketball/tennis/table tennis games among alumni.
